Description |
Three Acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCP), a current meter and a pressure logger were deployed at Crocker Reef, a senile (dead) barrier reef located in the northern portion of the Florida Reef Tract from December 12, 2014 to January 30, 2015 to quantify flow characteristics in various sub-regions. Two SonTek Argonaut-XR current profilers were deployed on the reef flat and configured to measure three-dimensional flow velocities throughout the water column. Both current profilers sampled at a rate of 1 hertz (Hz) for 120 seconds (s) every 10 minutes; each 120-s sampling was internally averaged to provide data at 10-minute resolution. Current profiles were made with a vertical measurement spacing of 0.5 meters (m). [More]
