Field Activity 09DCM01

Identifier 09DCM01
Purpose To characterize the microbial community associated with the deep-sea coral Lophelia pertusa
Location Southeastern U.S. Contintental Shelf, Atlantic Ocean
Summary Nineteen samples of the cold-water coral Lophelia pertusa were collected at two Atlantic sites for microbiology work using the Johnson-Sea-Link submersible and Kellogg sampler.
Info derived Bacterial-community species composition, presence of specific functional genes, identification of novel microbial species
