Field Activity 2015-325-FA

Identifier 2015-325-FA
Purpose Collecting cores of coral-reef framework (drill coring)
Location Sombrero, Tennessee, and Crocker Reefs, Florida Keys
Summary We collected four cores of Holocene reef framework from Tennessee Reef (all of which reached the Pleistocene bedrock). The cores are now being stored in the USGS-SP core archive and have been added to the listings of the digital collections
Info derived Trends in Holocene reef development

Projects
Platform
Twin Vee (Jabba Jaw)
22-ft Twin Vee This boat has a carrying capacity of up to 1500 pounds and up to 7 people and a shallow draft (9 inches empty). This boat's cat hull design results in a smoother ride in choppy water, at the expense of a slightly deeper draft. This boat is powered by two Yamaha 70hp motors.
