Description | The project proposes to acquire underway and discrete water samples to document the carbonate chemistry of the Arctic waters and, among other things, test the waters saturation state with respect to calcium carbonate. The waters will also be analyzed for characterization of microbiology and microbiological processes, thereby creating critically important baselines. We will collect a unique dataset that will test a number of hypotheses associated with ocean acidification. |
