Description During June 15-23 and July 10-12, 2014, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) conducted a nearshore geologic assessment, including bathymetric mapping, along Fire Island, New York (NY). This work was conducted in support of efforts to map the shoreface, characterize stratigraphy, and investigate changes in seafloor elevations near Fire Island, NY to assess the impacts of Hurricane Sandy to the area in October 2012.
